Canon Bob Hamill – Parish Priest
Canon Bob Hamill has faithfully served the Catholic Church for more than five decades, dedicating his priesthood to the service of God and His people. As Parish Priest of St Michael's RC Church, he is known for his warmth, compassion, and unwavering commitment to pastoral care, helping parishioners deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer, worship, and the sacraments.
Ordained in 1974, Canon Bob celebrated his Golden Jubilee of Priesthood in 2024, marking fifty years of devoted ministry. Throughout his priestly life, he has been recognised for his kindness, dedication, patience, and joyful spirit, qualities that continue to inspire the parish community today.
Canon Bob has a special commitment to serving children, young people, and those with additional needs. For many years, he has been actively involved in pilgrimages to Lourdes, accompanying disabled and disadvantaged children and helping them experience the love, hope, and healing found through faith and community. His ministry reflects the Gospel values of compassion, service, and inclusion.
As a spiritual leader, Canon Bob encourages all who come to St Michael's to encounter Christ through the Eucharist, prayer, and active participation in parish life. His faithful witness, pastoral guidance, and dedication to the mission of the Church continue to strengthen and enrich the community he serves

Rev.Fr.Saji Thomas RCJ – Assistant Parish Priest
Rev. Fr. Saji Thomas RCJ serves as the Assistant Parish Priest at St Michael's RC Church, East Ham. As a member of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus (RCJ), he is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, encouraging vocations, and serving the parish community with faith, compassion, and generosity.
Through the celebration of the Holy Mass, the Sacraments, and pastoral ministry, Fr. Saji accompanies parishioners on their journey of faith, helping them deepen their relationship with Christ and the Church. His approachable nature and commitment to pastoral care make him a valued presence within the parish community.
Inspired by the charism of the Rogationists, Fr. Saji has a special concern for prayer, evangelisation, and the spiritual formation of families, young people, and those seeking to grow in faith. He actively supports parish activities, community outreach, and devotional life, encouraging all to respond to God's call with trust and hope.
With a heart devoted to service, Fr. Saji works alongside the parish clergy and volunteers to build a welcoming, vibrant, and faith-filled community where everyone can encounter God's love and mercy. Through his ministry, he continues to inspire parishioners to live the Gospel with joy, faith, and a spirit of Christian service enrich the community he serves to inspire the parish community
